Bluefield Asset Management operated primarily in the resources sector, delivering advisory services across the full life cycle of mining assets – from equipment strategy and planning to optimisation, operation, reliability improvement and decommissioning.

Deloitte is a leading global professional services firm working with clients across industries to deliver innovative solutions and transform business performance through data, technology, and advisory expertise.

The transaction

Bluefield had established itself as a market leader in mining asset maintenance but sought a strategic partner to broaden its service offering and move further up the value chain as part of its next phase of growth. After an extensive search, Deloitte Australia emerged as a well-suited strategic investor with a strong interest in expanding its maintenance consulting capabilities.

The acquisition positions Deloitte as a one-stop shop for comprehensive asset management services. As a result of the transaction, the Bluefield team formally joined Deloitte Consulting’s Transformation & Operations team.

Our role

Our team worked closely with Bluefield’s shareholders throughout the entire process, including preparing the information memorandum, marketing the business to a select group of well-suited investors, managing the due diligence process and assisting with transaction structuring, contract negotiation, and final completion.
